EquiFirst — Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

Last updated October 13, 2026. EquiFirst is operated by PD Horsemanship LLC.

What we collect

How we use it

To run the app: send your login code, email you Health Ledger due-date reminders, process your scan, respond to feedback, process Premium payments, and find and fix real bugs. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Who we share it with

EquiFirst runs on a small set of real service providers, each with a specific job:

We do not share your personal data with feed or supplement manufacturers, including Bluebonnet — every product on EquiFirst, Bluebonnet's included, is rated the same way with no special access to your data or anyone else's.

Health Ledger sharing

If you generate a shareable link for one of your horses (for example, to hand to a buyer), anyone with that link can view that horse's records until you revoke it. Creating and revoking that link is entirely your choice, available anytime from the horse's record panel.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data as long as your account exists. You can delete individual scan history entries, Health Ledger records, horses, and attachments yourself at any time in the app. Whole-account deletion isn't a self-service button yet — email pdhorsemanship@gmail.com to request it and we'll remove your account and its data by hand.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect your data (encrypted connections, access-controlled storage), but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

EquiFirst is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Cookies & sessions

EquiFirst uses one cookie to keep you logged in (an httpOnly session cookie). We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Premium subscriptions (terms)

Terms of Use

By creating an account or using EquiFirst, you agree to the terms below, in addition to the Privacy Policy above. These terms are a real, substantive draft, adapted for EquiFirst from a publicly available attorney-drafted template — they have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer licensed to advise PD Horsemanship LLC specifically. If anything below ever conflicts with the domain-specific disclaimer you agreed to on first launch (not-veterinary-advice, ingredient-data-accuracy, competition-legality, Health Ledger sharing), that disclaimer controls on those specific points.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, matching the age already stated in the Children's privacy section above. If you're between 13 and 17, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf and is responsible for the account. You're responsible for keeping your login email accurate and for all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate an account for a real violation of these terms, non-payment of a Premium subscription, or activity we believe in good faith is fraudulent or harmful — we'll try to notify you by email first where practical.

License to use EquiFirst

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use EquiFirst for your own personal (non-commercial) horse-care purposes. You may not: resell, rent, or commercially exploit the app or its content; copy, scrape, or redistribute the product/ingredient database in bulk; reverse-engineer the app; or use it to build a competing product. All rights in EquiFirst — the app, its scoring methodology, and the ingredient database — belong to PD Horsemanship LLC. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you give us permission to use them freely, without owing you anything or crediting you, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Disclaimer of warranties

EquiFirst is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, and to the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all other warranties, express or implied — including that it will be fit for a particular purpose or free of bugs. (This is in addition to, not instead of, the specific informational-tool disclaimer you agreed to on first launch.)

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: PD Horsemanship LLC is not liable for lost profits, lost data, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of EquiFirst. Our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the six months before the claim arose. This cap doesn't reduce or replace the first-launch disclaimer's horse-health-specific liability release above — both apply.

You agree to cover us if your actions cause us harm (indemnification)

If your violation of these terms, misuse of the app, or violation of the law causes a claim against PD Horsemanship LLC, you agree to cover our reasonable legal costs in defending it. We'll let you know if this comes up and won't settle anything on your behalf without telling you first.

Ending your access

You can stop using EquiFirst and delete your account at any time (see Data retention & deletion above). We may suspend or end your access as described in Eligibility and accounts above. Either way, the sections of these terms that are meant to survive (liability limits, the arbitration agreement below, etc.) continue to apply after your account ends.

Resolving disputes: individual arbitration

Please read this section carefully — it affects your right to sue in court. Except for small-claims-court matters and disputes about our intellectual property, you and PD Horsemanship LLC agree to resolve any dispute about EquiFirst or these terms through binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS, not in court — and not as a class action. Before filing for arbitration, email pdhorsemanship@gmail.com describing the dispute so we can try to work it out informally first. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of creating your account by emailing that same address with your name, account email, and a clear statement that you're opting out — doing so doesn't affect any other part of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute not subject to the arbitration agreement above will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Florida.

A few more standard terms

If you're a resident of certain states

If you're a California resident, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the California Department of Consumer Affairs (1625 N. Market Blvd., Suite N112, Sacramento, CA 95834, (800) 952-5210) with complaints, and you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA described in the Privacy Policy above. If you're a resident of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or Nevada, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy law (access, correction, deletion, opt-out of targeted advertising or sale of personal data, and similar rights) — reach out to pdhorsemanship@gmail.com to exercise any of these; as already noted above, EquiFirst doesn't sell personal data or run targeted advertising today.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the app changes. We'll update the date at the top when we do.
